Lakestar success boosts Europe's nascent Spac market

Shares in Lakestar Spac I, a new special purpose acquisition company backed by German venture capitalist Klaus Hommels, surged by more than 11% on Monday morning after it began trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Spacs have a chequered history in Europe, but the investor reception towards the asset class in the region is improving, after a $100bn boom of Spac IPOs in the US over the past 12 months.
